ADDAPT VCSEL driver to be presented at EuMIC 2017 in Nuremberg

ADDAPT consortium member TU Dresden designed a VCSEL driver which incorporates an adjustable 2-tap feed-forward equalizer (FFE) in 14 nm SOI CMOS technology. Using the FFE approach it is possible to reach data rates which exceed the inherent bandwidth of the laser. Successfully implementation and measurements reveal error-free electro-optical operation up to 42 Gb/s at 2.8 pJ/bit including the VCSEL power consumption. The design and the results will be presented at 12th European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (EuMIC) taking place on 08-13 October 2017 in Nuremberg, Germany.
